Lara Khouri, MBA, MPH

Lara Khouri is Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. In this role, she works with the hospital and its physicians to develop an expanded system of care for children in Los Angeles and beyond. This includes the growth and performance management of the hospital’s delivery system across the continuum, from the more than 200 primary care pediatricians across four counties in the CHLA Health Network to the nationally ranked advanced care provided in the hospital’s designated service lines. Khouri has responsibility for Strategic Planning; Health System Development and Integration; Government, Community and Business Relations; Marketing and Communications; the Center for Global Health; and the Cancer, Neurological, Orthopedic, Cardiac and Neonatal Service Lines.

 

Previously, Khouri was Executive Director of the Boston Children’s Hospital Integrated Care Organization and Senior Director of Integrated Care at Boston

Children’s Hospital. In both roles, she oversaw the implementation of accountable care delivery, including quality and cost performance measurement and improvement, as well as development and implementation of integrated care models and value-based payment models. Prior to her time in Boston, she was the founding Director of the Healthy Weight Program at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Previously, she worked in Managed Care at New York Presbyterian Healthcare System.

 

Khouri has been a committed mentor and educator for many years. From 2004 through 2014, Khouri was an instructor in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University. Since 2016, she has been a faculty member at the Fielding School of Public Health at the University of California, Los Angeles. In addition, she is committed to advancing the education and training of youth, having volunteered as a tutor and mentor since high school.
